Enjoy a Walking Holiday in Rovinj, Croatia

A popular tourist destination in Croatia, Rovinj is often called the “Blue Pearl of the Adriatic”. If you love exploring picturesque towns on foot or on a bike, you will fall in love with Rovinj. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe!

Aside from enjoying the city’s attractions, Rovinj is one of the last authentic remaining fishing ports in the Mediterranean. A city of about 15,000 inhabitants, Rovinj is nestled on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula and is ringed by 22 islands and islets. The old town of Rovinj was declared a cultural monument in 1963. The nearest airport to Rovinj is the Pula Airport located about 40 minutes from the city. You can also reach Roving through high speed ferries from Venice, Italy.

The first thing you must do in Rovinj is to visit the old town. No cars are permitted so it is a great opportunity for you to enjoy a walk. The labyrinth of cobbled stone alleys and narrow streets provides you the opportunity to discover small churches, old squares, baroque buildings, quaint shops, and a climb to the top of the tower of Church of St Euphemia affords you a breathtaking view of the city. Aside from visiting the attractions, you must take time out to take a boat ride to Katarina Island and Brijuni Islands. If you are still raring for more adventures, you can go dolphin and whale watching, scuba and snorkeling, and enjoy nature and wildlife tours.

The third sunniest place in the Adriatic, Rovinj will open your eyes to the beauty and splendor of a city where you can enjoy a walking holiday.
